Jodogahama Beach

Description
This is a ria style coastline (ria is a valley land mass partially submerged in water) that is part of Sanriku Fukko National Park. The pine trees of Iwate prefecture are also found here and provide a big contrast to the landscape, creating the atmosphere of a Japanese garden. The name comes from a priest who is said to have called the place a "paradise".

This is a 2km long valley along which Satetsu River flows. There is a limestone quay of around 50 meters high that continues along the river with various unusual rocks and waterfalls dotted along the way.
