Tokachigawa Onsen

This is a beautiful light blue hue lake situated along Biei River. Fine white alminium hydroxide particles from the water spring are contained in the spring water, which mixes with the blue of the main stream water, making it light blue. It was discovered by a professional photographer in 1997 and became famous.

This is an Onsen near Lake Akan. The local area used to be a large Ainu settlement, and in addition to souvenir shops and restaurants, there are traditional Ainu instrumental performances and dances held here, with a traditional Ainu musical instrument known as the "Mukkuri".

Situated in Kushiro Plain, this is Japan's largest marshland at 18,290 hectares. It is famous as a habitation for cranes, a special natural treasure of Japan. Cranes breed in various parts of the eastern area including Kushiro Wetland in the summer, and return to Kushiro Marshland in the winter.

This is a hilly area that was created by the eruption of Mount Tokachi. As there are many different types of crops planted here, it creates a beautiful patchwork pattern when looking at the fields from afar. Its views are often used in advertisements. One can also see amazing views of the stars on a clear night.
