When miles are granted

Car share and overnight stay miles are granted after use is completed. Usage time is counted separately for weekdays and weekends/holidays, and partial hours are rounded down. Cancelled bookings do not earn miles.

Weekday trips and repeat use within 90 days are best

Weekdays earn twice as many usage miles as weekends and holidays. If you complete your next booking within 90 days of the previous return, usage-time miles are doubled.

Carstay as a camper van builder

Carstay not only operates car share and overnight stay services for camper vans, but is also a camper van builder that makes its own camper vans. SAny.VAN is an original camper van built at Carstay's own workshop, "Mobi Lab.," which opened in Yokohama in October 2022, and it has been on sale since February 2024. The name comes from a phrase Carstay holds dear: "Stay Anywhere, Anytime."

How to use miles for SAny.VAN

When applying to purchase SAny.VAN, tell the staff member that you want to use Carstay Miles. After confirming your balance, the amount is deducted from the purchase price.

How to use miles for car share

Saved miles can be used as a discount on car share bookings of 72 hours or more, from your second reservation onward.

If you have used car share before, the previous vehicle type does not matter.

Miles are applied as a booking discount.

Maximum use
Up to5,000 miles

Up to 5,000 miles per reservation (50,000 yen). Miles cannot exceed the total of the fees eligible for the discount.

Mileage increments
1-mile increments

You can decide how many miles to use yourself.

Vehicles with a badge

Miles can be used for vehicles with the “Mileage eligible” badge. A mileage input field appears on the booking page.

Discount applies to

Option fees are also eligible. Insurance fees and the system usage fee are not eligible for the discount.

If a booking using miles is cancelled

All used miles are returned, but their expiration does not extend. Cancellation fees are calculated from the amount before miles are applied.

EXPIRATION

Mileage expiration

If you earn new miles within 730 days, your held miles will not expire.

Each time you earn new miles, the expiration of all held miles extends to 730 days from the next day.

Important notes

  • Miles are granted for free and cannot be purchased, exchanged for cash, or refunded.
  • Miles cannot be transferred to other members or combined across accounts.
  • If you close your account, all held miles and rank are forfeited.
  • If a booking is cancelled or refunded, miles earned from that booking may be revoked. Fraudulent or erroneous mileage grants may also be cancelled or suspended.
  • If Carstay changes the mileage program, notice will generally be posted at least 7 days in advance.
